Activities and Expectations

Riverside Dining: Savor authentic dishes like fresh-caught fried fish, organic plantains, rice and peas, and nourishing Ital soup, all prepared with local ingredients. Nature & Adventure: Explore lush greenery, relax under refreshing waterfalls, and sip on fresh coconut water right by the river. The Perfect Day Trip: Ideal for families, couples, and travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path escape in Jamaica.

What To Bring

Cash: Essential for paying for your experience or additional items, as mobile network/card machine signals in the gorge can occasionally be spotty or unreliable. Swimwear & Towel: You will definitely want to take a dip in the river or explore the hidden waterfalls (such as Orchid Falls or Governor Falls) during your hike. Water Shoes or Sturdy Footwear: The experience involves a short hike over rocks and terrain to reach the waterfalls and the riverside dining area. Good grip is key. A Change of Clothes: Highly recommended so you can enjoy your home-style meal and the ride home feeling dry and comfortable. Phone or Camera (with a Waterproof Pouch): You'll want to capture the incredible scenery, fresh food, and waterfall vibes safely around the water.
How to Get There From Kingston / Papine: Head out of Kingston toward Papine, then follow Gordon Town Road up toward the hills.   Drive until you reach the Gordon Town Square, marked by the prominent statue of Jamaican literary icon Louise "Miss Lou" Bennett-Coverley.   Continue straight past the square and turn right onto Enfield Road.   Follow Enfield Road to its end where the entrance gates for the property are located. (Note: Enfield Road can be quite narrow with limited parking right at the gate, so follow host parking instructions upon booking.)   Navigation Tip: You can use mapping apps like Google Maps or Waze and search directly for Pretty Close 1876 or Gordon Town, Jamaica.
